As it used to be as it should be

I hadn't spent time in this room for so long. So long. I come in here, sometimes i sleep here, i go through her closet, but it's been very long since i just sat here. As i plugged in my phone i saw magazines on the bottom shelf from May 2010; three years ago. Three years ago i never would have imagined sitting here and now thinking what I'm thinking. Thinking it alone.
Life should be as it used to be. I say that with guilt but that's how i want it.

  1. I was checking a friend's blog and I came by this randomly. The reason I clicked on it was because it was titled 'Mona Too'. The only Mona Too I know (virtually at least) is Mona Mostafa, Karim's sister. I used to check her Twitter account from time to time, at a time that I, myself, was active on Twitter (2010-2012). I never followed her or talked to her, but it was interesting to read her arguments with her brother, Kairm, or the random comments regarding Amr Adeeb during his shows in the middle of the night. But most of all, the thing that caught my attention most was the funny conversations with her mom and even though she had a hashtag created under #ShitMyMomSays (if my memory serves me right), which may sound a bit cruel or mean to some but I could tell that this girl is a 'Mammy's girl' and the bond/love they have is one of a kind.

You know when I heard her mother (may God Have mercy on her) passed away, the 2nd thing I did after calling her brother, Karim, to pay my respects (as expected he didn't reply), was to check Mona’s Twitter account. When I attended the funeral, I was wondering if I will accidently bump into her, was curious to know how she feels. It didn’t happen. For days I checked Twitter but I remember she didn’t post anything; I think it was 5 days or a week before she tweeted. I haven't checked since, not only her account, but I haven’t been following up with Twitter as a whole.

It took me a while; I had to dig to posts dated 2009 to make sure that you are the 'Mona Too' I know. Your profile said you work in Education and it ticked a box, but it wasn't before I noticed 'Heliopolis' and 'Canadian teachers' that made me sure. I don't know if you will read this, ever, but if you do, I just want you to know that you are not alone, and believe me when I tell you, things will get better, it is inevitable.

And thank you, I thoroughly enjoyed reading many posts on here today, and will definitely read more in the days to come. Your blog also inspired me to start writing again. We all should.
